Job Details:

  • The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) established its operations in Nigeria in 2015 and currently operates in two area offices covering Adamawa, Borno, and Plateau states, with a country office in Abuja. NRC also hosts the Nigeria INGO Forum (NIF). Current programming includes support to local partners, localisation activities, and interventions in ICLA, WASH, Shelter, Education, Livelihoods, and Protection.
  • The Grants Intern plays a key role in supporting the Grants Officer by ensuring smooth administrative and compliance processes, maintaining accurate documentation, and fostering coordination between program, finance, and M&E teams. The role involves updating grants trackers, organizing project cycle management meetings, and supporting donor reporting requirements. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to learn the fundamentals of grants management while contributing to humanitarian programming.

Responsibilities

Generic Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with NRC policies and donor guidelines.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the grants team.
  • Maintain effective filing and documentation systems.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in updating grants trackers and management tools.
  • Coordinate project cycle management meetings and follow up on action points.
  • Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to internal coordination and reporting.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Track donor requirements, reporting deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Support internal communication between program, finance, and M&E teams.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, trainings, and workshops.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor to ensure smooth operations.

Job Requirement:

  • Education: University degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience in grants, administration, or project support.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Interest in humanitarian and development work.
