UNIABUJA is now accepting applications for its 2026/2027 Open and Distance Learning (ODL) degree programmes, Part-Time Degree, and Top-Up/Degree Upgrader.
The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has opened its portal for students looking to apply for part-time undergraduate degrees through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Open & Distance Learning
The mode of study is mainly through On-line Course Delivery, Multi-media Resources, Audio-Visual Materials (CDs, DVDs, Disk drive) etc. Courses last between four to five years, depending on your entry route. Learning is done mainly online, using e-materials, videos, and other digital tools.
Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify, you must meet one of these:
- O’Level option: At least five credits including English and Maths in no more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB etc.)
- A-Level option: Two A-Level passes and five relevant O’Level credits
- Direct Entry (DE):
- Four O’Level credits including English and Maths
- Two A-Level passes, or
- Upper Credit Diploma or NCE with 10 points minimum
- IJMB with at least 10 points also accepted
Face-to-Face Part-Time Degree
All Part-Time programmes run at the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education (CDL&CE) shall be for a minimum of Six (6) years in respect of the regular four year degree programme depending on the entry qualifications. The mode of study is mainly face-to face contact on weekends.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must meet one of the following:
- O’Level Route: Five credits including English and Maths, not more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, etc.)
- A-Level Route: Two A-Level passes with at least two O’Level credits in relevant subjects
- Direct Entry:
- Four O’Level credits including English and Maths
- Two A-Level passes, or
- National Diploma (Upper Credit), or
- IJMB with minimum 10 points, plus five O’Level credits
Top-Up/Degree Upgrader
UNIABUJA Top-Up/Degree Upgrader programs are designed for individuals holding a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Bachelor’s degree with a Third-Class or Pass, seeking to upgrade their qualifications. These programs offer a pathway to a full Bachelor’s degree, improving career prospects and academic standing. The programs are typically offered in two academic sessions with a face-to-face mode of study, with a blend of virtual classroom activities.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- At least five credits including English and Maths in no more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB etc.)
- Two A-Level passes with five credits in relevant subjects
- Graduates from recognised universities or polytechnics (including Direct Entry, HND, or NCE) with acceptable grades
- Nurses must have relevant certification, e.g. Midwifery, HND, or a related third-class/pass degree

- Once you’re visible on the UNIABUJA CAPS dashboard, proceed to the school portal
- Visit cdlce.uniabuja.edu.ng
- Click CLICK HERE TO APPLY and read through the admission details
- Select PART-TIME CDP or Degree Conversion as your mode
- Click APPLY to begin
- Fill in your full name, email and phone
- Generate an RRR for payment
- Make the payment of ₦20,000 using Remita (MasterCard or Visa only)
- After payment, a unique application number will be generated
- Log in again with the number and your surname as password to complete the process
