P2P has used the Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings for the year 2025 to rank the top universities in the country. The THE World University Rankings are considered the leading global benchmarks, evaluating research-intensive universities across key pillars: teaching, research environment, research quality, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
The methodology for the rankings specifically focuses on the quality of teaching at universities across Sub-Saharan Africa. The ranking took into account responses from a survey of more than 20,000 students from 88 universities in the region.

1. Covenant University
Covenant University was established in 2002 by the World Mission Agency and the Living Faith Church Worldwide. It is a private Pentecostal Christian university located in Ota, Nigeria.

2. Ahmadu Bello University (ABU)
