Job Details:

  • The British Council would like to offer fresh graduates an experiential learning opportunity to gain real world experience through an internship programme. The practical experience an intern gains is expected to complement the theoretical knowledge he/she has gained during their studies. The intern is expected to both learn from and contribute to the workplace during the internship period, in turn providing an opportunity to increase employability skills. An outcome being that fresh graduates are more employable and successful because of the skills they acquire from the internship opportunity.

Role context

  • The Arts team builds connections between the UK and Nigeria’s creative sectors, supporting the brokering of new partnerships, advocating for arts and culture on the world stage and facilitating dialogue around the key global issues we are all facing.
  • The intern will have the opportunity to put to practice their knowledge and skills in a workplace as they gain more experience to further their career in the Arts.

Main Accountabilities
The main accountabilities of the intern(s) include:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for projects and events mainly in arts but as required by other parts of the business in line with all required internal and external standards.
  • Administer our monitoring and evaluation tools – currently scorecard including collection and documentation of all data within deadline and according to corporate standards.
  • Support marketing and communications for projects across the arts programme or as needed across the operation
  • Support the team with useful but repetitive tasks such as creating images, scheduling approved posts and analytics monitoring.
  • Support any other administrative tasks as assigned.

Job Requirement:

Minimum/essential

  • Graduate Level Education
  • Graduated within the last 2 years

Role-specific knowledge and experience

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Have fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Be computer literate with proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Be proficient in the use of Canva
  • Have an interest in the Arts
