How to Apply for NCDMB Oil & Gas Field Readiness Training Program

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) launched the Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Program to build local capacity and bridge technical skill gaps in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. The program aims to train over 10,000 Nigerians in key technical and professional areas such as Sub-sea Engineering, Underwater Welding, Control and Automation, Seafaring, QA/QC Engineering, Geoscience, and Digital Technologies, including AI, IoT, and Cloud Computing.

This national initiative is designed for young Nigerians below 35 years with OND, HND, or BSc qualifications in Engineering and STEM disciplines like Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Gas, Welding, Metallurgy, Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science, and related fields. The training aligns with Section 10(1b) of the NOGICD Act (2010), ensuring Nigerians receive first consideration for training and employment opportunities in the oil and gas sector.

To participate, candidates must register on the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System (NOGIC JQS) portal. The following steps outline the correct application process:

Step 1: Create an Account

• Visit https://nogicjqs.gov.ng/accounts/login
• Click Create Account and fill in your details accurately.
• After submission, a confirmation email will be sent to you.
• If you don’t receive the link or experience a delay, send a message to support@nogicjqs.com. NCDMB support will help activate your account and create a new password so you can log in successfully.

Step 2: Login to Your Account

Once your account is active, log in using your email and password. You’ll be directed to the Dashboard on the NOGIC JQS portal.

Step 3: Update Your Profile

After logging in, go to My Profile on the left sidebar. You must complete both your Profile and Academic Records sections to become eligible for the training application.

Fill all required details in these sections, including:

• Personal and contact information under Profile
• Your qualifications, schools attended, and certificates under Academic Records
• Ensure every field is correctly filled and saved.

Note: The NCDMB Oil & Gas Field Readiness Training Program option will not appear unless your profile and academic records are fully completed.

Step 4: Proceed to Application

Once you have successfully completed your Profile and Academic Records, the NCDMB Oil & Gas Field Readiness Training Program will automatically appear on your dashboard.

A pop-up window will appear requesting confirmation that you:

• Are below 35 years of age
• Hold an OND, HND, or BSc in an approved field

Tick, I have read and meet the program requirements and click Proceed

Step 5: Fill in the Application Form

Enter the following:

• First, Middle, and Last Name
• Email Address
• Course of Study
• Select 1–3 skill areas of interest in order of preference

Available skill areas include:

• Sub-Sea Engineering
• Underwater Welding Engineering
• Control & Automation Engineering
• Drilling Engineering
• Helicopter Piloting
• Marine Operations
• Production & Maintenance Engineering
• QA/QC Engineering (NDT 1-3)
• Geoscience Engineering
• Digitization & Digitalization (AI, IOT, Drones)

Step 6: Submit Your Application

• Review your details carefully, then click Submit Application.
• You’ll receive a pop-up success notification once the form is accepted.

After completing registration, regularly check your email and the NOGIC JQS dashboard for updates, further instructions, or selection notifications from NCDMB.
