In this article, we have compiled everything you need to know about how to apply for NYSC registration, relocation tips, and PPA guidelines.

How to Check if You Are Eligible for NYSC Batch C Registration

To confirm if you’re cleared to register for NYSC, use the links below. If your name doesn’t appear on one of the three lists, contact your school for rectification.

NYSC Documentation Requirements:

NYSC classifies Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) into three categories:

  • Home-trained students (Nigerian students)
  • Foreign-trained students
  • Married women

For each of the categories, the commission requires a different set of documents.

Documents Needed for Nigerian Tertiary Institution students

These are PCMs who attended Nigerian tertiary institutions. If you fall into this category, these are the things you’ll need:

  • Passport photograph
  • NIN slip
  • Other requirements such as D.O.B, primary school, etc, are hand-filled.

NYSC registration documents for foreign-trained graduates

The category is for PCMs who attended tertiary institutions outside the country. If you fall into this category, these are the documents you will need:

  • International passport
  • Original certificate (not statement of result)
  • Original O-level result
  • Passport photograph
  • Evaluation letter (if you’re yet to be evaluated)

How to Register For NYSC Batch C Online

The NYSC Batch C registration process is now open for eligible Nigerian graduates preparing for national service. Follow the steps below to complete your NYSC Batch C online registration smoothly.

1. Create an Account
Go to the official NYSC registration portal — https://portal.nysc.org.ng/ — and sign up using your National Identification Number (NIN), functional email address, and active phone number.

2. Activate Your Account
Check your email for an activation link from the NYSC portal. Click the link to verify and activate your account before proceeding with registration.

3. Fill in Your Bio-Data and Educational Details
Log in to your newly activated account and complete your personal information accurately — full name, date of birth, state of origin, local government area, and contact details. Enter your institution, course of study, and matriculation number to allow the system to verify your credentials on the Senate/Academic Board-approved list submitted by your school.

Upload a clear passport photograph with an off-white background. Ensure all entries match your official records, as discrepancies may delay your registration or deployment.

4. Biometric Capture
Proceed to biometric verification. This involves fingerprint and facial capture, which cannot be done by proxy. If you lack the equipment, visit an accredited NYSC registration centre or cybercafé for assistance.

5. Upload Required Documents
Scan and upload all necessary documents, including your degree or HND certificate, statement of result, and passport photograph. Make sure the files are clear and meet the portal’s upload specifications.

6. NYSC State Selection
You’ll be prompted to choose your preferred states of deployment. Selection should be based on personal preference, accessibility, and opportunities, but final posting depends on NYSC’s allocation criteria and national service needs.

7. Payment
Pay the registration fee via the integrated Remita payment platform. The fee is approximately ₦2,786.24, excluding transaction charges. If you wish to receive your call-up letter via SMS, an additional ₦3,000 applies. Follow the on-screen payment instructions to complete the process securely.

8. Print Your Call-Up Letter
After completing the registration and being verified by NYSC, you’ll be able to download your NYSC Call-up Letter from the portal at the appropriate time when you are mobilized. This letter will contain your state of deployment, camp location reporting date, and other important details. This document will be required at the orientation camp.

Important Items to Pack for the Orientation Camp

Before heading to the NYSC camp, here are the things you would need:

  • Documents: Call-up letter (5 copies), green slip, school ID card, statement of result (3+ photocopies), medical fitness report, passport photographs (8 copies), and professional license for PCMs who study medical courses.
