Job Details:
We are committed to helping creators and small businesses build meaningful relationships with their audiences. As part of our Marketing team, you’ll play a key role in expanding our reach and helping more people get started with Buffer.
We’re looking for a Senior Growth Marketing Manager who blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You’re data-driven, creative, and motivated to experiment, iterate, and scale what works. In this role, you’ll lead growth marketing initiatives that drive awareness and user acquisition across multiple channels.
As a senior individual contributor, you’ll be deeply involved in both shaping our strategy and bringing it to life. You’ll launch and optimize programs independently, while also serving as a collaborative thought partner to others across the team.
This role would be a member of a small Marketing team at a company of builders. Marketing teammates at Buffer are also creators, and a great fit for this role will be someone who uses Buffer regularly and has a personal social media approach.
Who you’ll work with:
In this role, you’ll report to Simon Heaton, our Director of Growth Marketing.
You’ll partner closely with teammates across marketing, product, engineering, design, and data to launch impactful campaigns and uncover new growth opportunities.
Day-to-day, you’ll collaborate with the rest of our tight-knit Marketing team to deliver outstanding acquisition programs that advance our mission and strategy. You’ll also work regularly with our in-house designer, engineer, and data scientist to execute and refine these programs. We’re a small team with a lot of ownership and are excited to find someone who takes initiative, works autonomously, and collaborates cross-functionally to turn ideas into action.
What you’ll do:
- Run cross-functional user acquisition programs – Develop and manage user-acquisition experiments and programs in collaboration with marketing, content, product, data, and external partners.
- Drive experimentation and creative campaign strategies – Use hypothesis-driven A/B testing and creative, data-informed campaign strategies to optimize and scale new acquisition opportunities.
- Lead paid acquisition efforts across key channels – Lead and scale paid acquisition campaigns across search, social, and display, including a growing social retargeting program on platforms like Meta, LinkedIn, and others.
- Manage and optimize performance marketing investments – Own and optimize performance marketing campaigns and manage advertising budgets within cost-efficiency guidelines.
- Collaborate on advanced measurement and attribution – Collaborate with data science teams on signal integrations and incrementality studies.
- Contribute to cross-functional web and SEO initiatives – Partner with our web and SEO managers on Buffer.com projects, including user-generated content, localization, and targeted campaigns to reach new audience segments.
- Grow acquisition through referral and partnership programs – Build and manage referral-driven programs and partnerships with Buffer users and third-party collaborators to attract qualified new users and grow our customer base.
- Influence growth strategy across the organization – Act as a strategic thought partner across internal teams by providing insights, sharing best practices, and collaborating closely to identify and execute on growth opportunities.

Job Requirement:
- You use and understand Buffer, and you are passionate about social media, organic marketing, and helping creators, individuals, and small businesses succeed.
- Proven success managing and scaling global, high-volume marketing programs in a SaaS or product-led growth (PLG) environment.
- Hands-on experience running paid acquisition campaigns across platforms like search, social, display, and video.
- Demonstrated ability to take a channel from 0 to 1 and evolve it into a high-performing, efficient growth lever.
- Experience building and executing an experimentation roadmap with clear, measurable outcomes.
- Broad knowledge across acquisition channels (paid, owned, earned) and how to apply them strategically to drive user acquisition.
- Familiarity with community-led growth and experience engaging or activating communities as part of a broader acquisition or brand strategy.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, comfortable working cross-functionally and with external partners in a remote setting.
- Skilled at simplifying complex problems and turning insights into structured, testable marketing experiment roadmaps.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and bias for action in cross-functional team environments.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to blend research, data, and intuition in decision-making.
- Experience using modern marketing tools, including AI-powered solutions, to streamline workflows, generate content, or inform decision-making.
Perks and Benefits:
- Salary range between $141,275 to $163,880 USD.
- Work remotely – 4-Day workweeks
- Home office setup: Get a laptop + $1000 to set up your home office!
- Health insurance: We offer health insurance for all of our team members, international or US.
- Minimum vacation: We ask teammates to take at least 3 weeks per year.
