List of State That Pay NYSC Allowance – 2025 Updated!
NYSC corps members receive a monthly allowance from the federal government. Additionally, some states provide extra allowances for corps members assigned to their regions.
The federal government has approved a monthly allowance of N77,000 for NYSC members. However, the amounts provided by each state government can vary.
Below is an updated list of states that pay extra allowances to NYSC corps members, offering these individuals additional financial benefits.
List of State That Pay NYSC Allowance
Please note that the increased allowance of 15,000 only applies to corps members who work under the state ministry. Corps members working with private companies won’t receive this allowance.

- Akwa Ibom: ₦5,000
- Anambra: ₦8,000 (town), N8,500 (rural)
- Bayelsa: ₦6,000 (state capital), N8,000 (outside capital), N10,000 (across the water)
- Borno: ₦5,000
- Delta: ₦5,000
- Ebonyi: Stopped paying since May 2019
- Jigawa: ₦5,000 (first 3 months), N10,000 (every 2 months thereafter)
- Katsina: ₦4,000
- Kebbi: ₦2,000
- Lagos: ₦33,000
- Nasarawa: ₦5,000
- Osun: ₦5,000
- Oyo: ₦15,000
- Sokoto: ₦45,000 (accumulated at the end of service year)
- Taraba: ₦6,000
- Yobe: ₦5,000
- Zamfara: ₦5,000

Several states do not provide any additional allowance beyond the federal government’s ₦77,000. Here are the states:

What You Should Know
Medical Corps members receive significantly higher allowances, often reaching up to ₦150,000 per month, in addition to the federal allowance.
