The MUTA Education Committee is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 2025 MUTA Education Scholarship Program.

This scholarship is awarded based on merit and is open to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), medicine, and allied medical programs.

MUTA Education Scholarship Details:

• The program will award up to 16 scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year.

• One recipient will be selected from each of the 14 Tiv-speaking LGAs in Benue State, as well as one each from Taraba and Nasarawa states.
• The scholarship Funds can cover tuition, fees, research, or other education-related costs.
• The scholarship amount will be determined and announced after the selection process.

MUTA Education Scholarship Requirement:

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

1. Be enrolled in an undergraduate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), medicine or any allied medical field.
2. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (equivalent to second class upper degree) or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Note: Applicants who do not meet the minimum CGPA requirement will not be considered, even if they have the highest CGPA in their local government.

Evaluation Criteria

Eligible applications will be reviewed based on the following:

• CPGA (60%) 
• Strength of personal statement (40%).

Applications with falsified information will be disqualified.

Document Requirment for MUTA Education Scholarship:

1. Personal Statement: A two-page, double-spaced essay explaining why you deserve this award. Include details about your: academic history and accomplishments, community service involvement, and career goals as well as financial need.
2. Certificate of Origin: A document from your State or Local Government confirming your origin.
3. CGPA Certification Form: A signed letter from your institution’s Academic Officer or Head of Department verifying your CGPA. (The required form is available for download in the section below the application form.)

MUTA Education Scholarship Rewards:

• The Bode Amao Foundation Scholarship will provide full scholarships to selected candidates as well as an amount of N100,000 per year until graduation. 
• The award is per beneficiary per academic session and is active throughout the course of study as long as the high acedemic execellence must be maintained.

Notice

Award winners will be notified via email, while applicants who are not selected will not receive individual notifications. The names of scholarship recipients will also be published on the official website at www.muta.org and shared on MUTA Education’s social media platforms during the second or third week of June. All applicants are encouraged to monitor these platforms for updates on their application status. The awards will be presented at a ceremony planned for July or August 2025, with the exact date to be announced once confirmed.
