7 Things to Know About CDCFIB Recruitment Before CBT Exam Start Tomorrow

CDCFIB Recuitment

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially commenced the second phase of its 2025 nationwide recruitment exercise. This stage involves a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for shortlisted candidates seeking positions across four federal paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

With the CBT scheduled to start on Wedenesday November 12, 2025, candidates are expected to adhere strictly to all instructions and technical requirements to advance to the next stage.

We compiled 7 important things every candidate should know about the CDCFIB recruitment before the examination day.

1. CDCFIB Supervises Four Paramilitary Agencies

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) oversees the recruitment of personnel into four major paramilitary organizations in Nigeria. These are the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Federal Fire Service (FFS). Each agency plays a vital role in national security, law enforcement, and emergency response.

2. Over 1.9 Million Nigerians Applied

According to official figures released by the board, 1,911,141 applications were received during the 2025 recruitment exercise. Kogi (116,162), Kaduna (114,536), and Benue (110,565) had the highest number of applicants, while Bayelsa (11,669) and Lagos (14,216) recorded the fewest. This highlights the high level of public interest and competition for paramilitary service positions.

3. Only 30,150 Candidates Will Be Selected

From the millions of applications submitted, only 30,150 candidates will be employed into the paramilitary. 10,000 candidates will be recruited each to Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), 5,150 will be employed to Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), and 5,000 Federal Fire Service (FFS)

4. CDCFIB Exam Date and Time

The Computer-Based Test (CBT) for shortlisted candidates is scheduled to hold from November 12th to 19th, 2025. The examination will begin at 10:00 AM and end at 11:00 AM, lasting one hour. All candidates must log in to the exam portal at least 30 minutes before the start time for verification and system checks.

5. How to Check and Print Your Exam Slip

Candidates can confirm their shortlist and retrieve their exam slip by visiting https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. Enter your NIN and phone number, complete the security verification, then click “Retrieve Examination Slip.” The slip will display your exam date, time, and login instructions. Print and keep it for verification on exam day.

6. Mode of Examination

The CDCFIB CBT is conducted online using an AI-assisted proctoring system. Candidates are monitored live through their webcam and microphone to prevent malpractice. The system automatically flags suspicious activities such as switching tabs, external communication, or looking away from the screen for too long.

7. Salary and Ranks

All four agencies operate under the Consolidated Para-Military Salary Structure (COMPASS), meaning they offer similar salaries at equivalent ranks and grades. Whether you choose Immigration, Civil Defence, Correctional, or Fire Service, your paycheck will be the same at the same level.
