Ondo State OSOPADEC Scholarship Scheme Details:

The OSOPADEC Scholarship Commission has been entrusted with the responsibility of socio-economic welfare of the mandate areas which covers Ilaje and Esedo Local Government Areas.  

Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC was established by the Laws of Ondo State House of Assembly in 2001 to intervene in the development of the oil producing and impacted areas of Ondo State. The Commission has been entrusted with the responsibility of socio-economic welfare of the mandate areas which covers Ilaje and Esedo Local Government Areas.

The Commission through her leadership engages in Community Economic Development (CED) initiatives by facilitating, executing and implementing projects and programmes in these mandate communities.

Ondo State OSOPADEC Scholarship Scheme Requirement:

All intended applicants must meet the following requirements;

  • Must be indigenes of either Ilaje or Ese-Odo Local Government Area
  • Must be full-time students of recognized Private or Public Tertiary Institutions within the country as of the 2023/2024 Academic Session
  • Both undergraduate and Postgraduate, as well as students of the Nigerian Law School, are also eligible to apply in so much as their school/universities authorities acknowledge their studentship; and
  • All Part-time/sandwich, Pre-degree, NTI Certificate/Diploma students and others from an institution not accredited by relevant government agencies are not qualified for this award.

Document Requirement for Ondo State OSOPADEC Scholarship Scheme:

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

  • One recent Passport Photograph
  • Evidence of Local Government Area of Origin
  • JAMB Admission Letter
  • School fees receipts (2022/2023 Academic Session)
  • Current valid Student Identity Card. (ID)

Ondo State OSOPADEC Scholarship Scheme Rewards:

The Ondo State OSOPADEC Scholarship will provide a sum of;

  • N50,000 for undergraduates
  • N100,000 for Masters and Postgraduate Diploma students
  • N150,000 for PhD students

Purpose of the Internship

African Union Graduate Internship Program Requirement:

  • Actively enrolled in at least the final year of a Bachelor’s degree program OR
  • Must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree or an advanced/ postgraduate (Master) qualification in a related academic field; 
  • Be nationals of a Member State of the African Union.
  • Be full-time students currently enrolled in the final year of their Bachelor or graduate school program.

Benefits of African Union Graduate Internship Program:

Applicants selected for the African Union Graduate Internship Program will be offered:

  • The AU will have no financial obligation towards interns – travel arrangements and cost of accommodation and living expenses will be the responsibility of the interns. 
  • AU will use reasonable efforts to assist the interns in obtaining their entry and residence visas.
  • Interns will not be entitled to any compensation for travel. 
  • The internship will be authorized only once for three (3) months renewable one time for any candidate
  • Interns are not entitled to medical travel or medical evacuation to and from the internship location at the expense of the Commission. Interns shall therefore have individual insurance coverage throughout the duration of the internship.
