The total score for the post-UME is 100 and the general cut-off is 65. The cut-off mark varies and Ilorin indigene is given higher priorities of admission compared to other states (non-indigene)

7 Tips on How to Pass UNILORIN Post UTME

  1. Revise O’Level books
  2. Study with Unilorin Past Questions
  3. Practice with colleague
  4. Aim higher than the required cut off mark
  5. Assess your chances of admission
  6. Manage exam anxiety
  7. Adhere to exam rules and regulations
1. Revise your O’level books

Thorough revision of your O’level textbooks is crucial for success in the UNILORIN Post UTME exam. This will help you refresh your understanding of fundamental concepts and strengthen your grasp of the subjects you’ll be tested on.

2. Study with Unilorin past questions

Past questions are an invaluable resource for familiarizing yourself with the exam format, question types, and marking schemes. Practice answering past questions under timed conditions to simulate the actual exam environment and improve your speed and accuracy. Download UNILORIN Past Questions and Answers

3. Practice with colleague (after you have studied alone)

Once you’ve had a solid foundation from self-study, join a college or tutorial group to engage in collaborative learning and practice. This will expose you to different perspectives, allow you to clarify doubts with peers, and enhance your problem-solving skills.

4. Aim higher than the required cut-off mark

Don’t just aim for the minimum passing mark; strive to score higher. This will give you a competitive edge in the selection process and increase your chances of securing admission into your desired program.

5. Assess your chances of admission

Evaluate your academic performance, UTME score, and the competitiveness of your chosen course to get a realistic understanding of your admission prospects.

It is wiser to select a course for which you have a higher chance of admission, rather than choosing a course for which you may not be admitted, only to end up studying a course that you do not have a passion for over the course of four years.

6. Manage exam anxiety

Anxiety can hinder your performance. Practice relaxation techniques, get adequate sleep, and maintain a healthy lifestyle to cope with exam stress and stay calm during the test.

7. Adhere to exam rules and regulations

Thoroughly review the post-UTME exam guidelines and strictly follow all instructions. Familiarize yourself with the exam format, prohibited items, and penalty measures for any violations.

How to calculate UNILORIN’s Admission Cut-Off Mark?

The admission process at UNILORIN will consider an aggregate of UTME/DE score (50%), the Post-UTME screening score (30%), and the grades of five relevant O’ Level subjects (20%).

JAMB

The maximum score under JAMB is 400. To get 50%, your Jamb score will be divided by 8 (400/8)

WAEC/NECO

O level is calculated using the 5 core subjects (every course requires a specific combination of subjects that candidates must have in order to gain admission to the University).

  • A1 – 6 points
  • B2 – 5 points
  • B3 – 4 points
  • C4 – 3 points
  • C5 – 2 points
  • C6 – 1 points

Your total points is then calculated to 20 through multiplication by 2/3.

Example:

A candidate that have A1 all through her 5 subject O’level score will be calculated as follow;

  • Mathematics = A1
  • English = A1
  • Chemistry = A1
  • Physics = A1
  • Biology = A1

Total = 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6  = 30 points

Then multiply by 2

30 X 2 = 60

Lastly, divide by 3

60/3 = 20%

For Direct entry: Let’s say an aspirant scores 14 points 14×3.125 = 43.75

AGGREGATE (DE) 43.75+41.6 = 85.35
